With World Environment Day taking place on June 5th, we’re highlighting one of our eco-friendly labels: Jacron.
Whether you are an established brand or just starting your journey towards more conscious production, small choices like your label materials, make a big impact.
What is Jacron?
Jacron is a sustainable, vegan-friendly material made from a blend of cellulose, water and a small amount of natural rubber. The result is a strong, flexible material with a paper-like texture that looks and feels similar to leather, without using any animal products.
Produced by turning wood into pulp, Jacron is a form of kraft paper that offers the durability required for garment labelling while maintaining a natural, biodegradable composition. This material is a popular choice among eco-conscious brands looking for a leather alternative that aligns with their values.
Why choose Jacron?
Besides its sustainable features, Jacron is also extremely versatile. It can be:
- Embossed, debossed, printed or foil-stamped (available in gold, silver, or bronze finishes)
- Dyed in a wide range of colours
- Sewn directly onto clothing or accessories
